WHAT IS AN ADJUSTMENT?

A chiropractic or a spinal adjustment is a physical manipulation by use of slight pressure on the joints in order to realign the misaligned vertebras. The adjustment can be preformed on the cervical (neck), thoracic  (upper back), lumbar (low back) and all joints such as knees and ankles all with varying techniques.

WHAT DOES AN ADJSUTMENT DO?

The main purpose of an adjustment is to correct spinal misalignments and to improve the biomechanical functions of the body.

WHO CAN GET AN ADJUSTMENT?

Everyone can receive benefits from an adjustment; those suffering chronic pain conditions or those who just want general spinal care are all wonderful candidates for an adjustment. We see many patients with life long injuries and chronic pains or even infants who need adjustments following a traumatic birth.

WHAT DOES AN ADJUSTMENT LOOK LIKE?

Patients will often begin treatment with a thoracic or lumbar adjustment which requires the patient to be facedown on the adjustment table. Dr. Campbell will go through a series of adjustments and make any modifications to the patient needs. At Campbell Chiropractic, we have specialty tables that assist the patient in standing and lying down to reduce any aggravation of the spine or joints. Cervical and extremity (ankles, elbows, shoulders) adjustments are preformed as the patient is laying face up and sitting on the adjustment table.
